Names

First names read best on prints ("Anna & Ben"). Surnames suit plaques. Keep it under 40 characters so the type stays large.

The date

Use the date you count from — wedding, first date, the day you met. It's printed in full ("June 14, 2019") and, on star maps, it decides the sky.

The place

A city is enough for a star map; a full address is better for a map print. We look up the coordinates and print them beneath the design. Check them on the proof.

How the star map is made

We take your place's latitude and longitude, the date and the time you choose (default 9 PM local), compute the local sidereal time and plot the stars above the horizon from a bright-star catalog, with constellation lines. It's the real sky, not a decorative pattern.

The optional line

Under ten words. "Where it began." "The night we said yes." A line from your vows. Full sentences crowd the design.

The proof

Within one business day we email a proof. Look at spelling, the date format and the coordinates. Reply with changes as many times as you need; nothing prints until you approve.
